The staff at CatholicLIFE are pleased to host this blog of the Archdiocesan pilgrimage, In the Footsteps of Saint Paul.  The blog will provide a way for the wider Archdiocese to be connected to the Pilgrimage as “virtual pilgrims”.  We also pray that it will be a valuable faith formation resource for you and your community.  We invite you to join in the blog, participate in the discussion and celebration of the wonderful Apostle Saint Paul.

Congratulations to Shawn, Catherine and team on this latest addition to CatholicLife.
I am looking forward to folowing the progress of the pilgrimage and would like to be able to show highlights from this site to the parishioners at Bombala and also to students and staff at Lumen Chrisi College, Pambula.
Use of the internet in such ways for our Archdiocese will help resolve issues of distance.

Fr. Mick it was a good thought on your part to suggest this and I am looking forward to following the journey.
Those of us on this side of the world still have the opportunity to attend the St. Paul E Conference on the 30 June. This Conference is a chance to experience St. Paul in eight parishes locally and here at CatholicLIFE. Details are on the CatholicLIFE website.

This just great. I was hoping to be part of the pilgrimage but time beat me, so this will be a great way to keep in touch. Well done Mick for thinking of It

What a great idea - it does not surprise me that Fr Mick had a hand in the concept. Judith and I will follow (and join in with) the pilgrimage via this medium - such a wonderful opportunity for us both. Heartfelt thanks to all those responsible for “The Virtual Pilgrimage”. We will be praying with you all.

Wow…. blown away with this fantastic concept of bloggers on such a wonderful Pilgrimage. Congrats Fr Mick with your ideas that enable so many to be involved in this Pilgrimage. Can’t wait to see it’s development. We pray for all involved in the Pilgrimage and look forward to learning so much more about the areas they will be travelling in.
Many blessings, Jacqui and Gavin Bell

    Finally! A blogging Aussie Archbishop!

Your Grace, the Disciples of Jesus in Hobart watched your wonderful series on St Paul, as part of our Lenten devotions. They were very inspiring - many thanks.

Now that the web site is fully operational and we are receiving the first posts (remember when we had to wait for the postacards to come well after our friends had returned from their travels!!!!)it is only right that everyone who joins the pilgrimage via the web know how much work is going on behind the scenes.

Ideas are fine to have but they can only be aplied if there is a TEAM to carry out all the behind the scenes work.

Rosamia, who works as our front desk person at our CatholicLife centre in Yarralumla deserves a medal for all her work to make sure we can enjoy the site.

Shawn van der Linden is putting all the reports together, editting and placing the pics. If you have ever written an article for a paper or a magazine you will know how much work is involved, so thanks Shawn.

Everytime you log on to enjoy the pilgrimage, please remember Rosamia, Shawn, Matt, Christine, Rachel, Catherine and all the TEAM (many volunteers)at CatholicLife as they give us this opportunity. Let us pray for our Archdiocesan family too, that it will continue St paul’s mission to carry the Good News to all.

This is exciting, I have already traveled the paths of St. Paul through Turkey and Greece so I am looking forward to renewing my memories. God Bless you all.

Thank you to everyone behind this initiative - not only because we will be able to follow the pilgrims in their journey, but also hopefully this blog will serve as a ‘proof of concept’ for future efforts.

I am a fan of the Archbishop of Boston’s blog at http://www.cardinalseansblog.org/ and would love to see something similar in our Archdiocese. Echoing Fr Mick’s words, I know how much effort would have to go into such a blog, having worked in web services myself in a previous life.

Blogs have a great potential as a communication tool for Vocations as well. A good example is the one run by the Dominicans of the Province of St Joseph in the US: http://www.dominicanfriars.org/

Keep up the good work everyone, and I look forward to jealously reading the posts.
